Take a leap

When I heard about Seth Godin’s Ruckusmakers workshop, I knew I had to apply.

Having the chance to interact and spend quality time with my favorite blogger was an opportunity I couldn’t resist.

me and godinThe conference is invite only, so I also knew it was a long-shot. Not everyone (or even 10 percent) of those who apply get invited.

The application was short, consisting of two questions:
1. Why do you want to come?
2. What project are you most proud of?

My answers were simple and direct:
1. I met Seth Godin over a year ago when he spoke at Z80 Labs. After his talk, he asked me “What are you going to do to get fired from here and start making waves?” I have been hoping to make a ruckus with him ever since.
2. The Senase Project’s Sponsor a Student program and here’s why.

The day after submitting my application, I received an email from Seth Godin’s assistant.

I’m thrilled to announce that I was selected as one of 70 attendees for the workshop in early March.

I have no idea what to expect from the conference other than intensity. I know the weekend will be one I remember for the rest of my life.

So, the next time you think an opportunity is way out of your league, I encourage you to take a leap.
