How To Make Facebook’s Algorithm Work For You

Are you feeling fed up with Facebook? Not having fun browsing through your Facebook newsfeed?

Well, I promise you are not alone.

It seems like everyone is hating on Facebook these days.

Facebook’s algorithm is impacting your newsfeed and what shows up; a lot of people aren’t happy about it.

The good news is that you’re actually in control on how much you enjoy your experience on Facebook.

You can actually help impact Facebook’s algorithm.

Taking control of Facebook:

When it comes to Facebook, you’re in the driver’s seat; you’re in control of your experience.

You shouldn’t sit and complain about Facebook’s algorithm.

It’s like… if you hate Facebook so much, stop using it.

There are two things you can do in order to enjoy the platform, and the newsfeed in particular, more.

  • Unfollow People: Facebook lets you unfollow people! Head over to their profile and click the “following” button to set your preferences for where/how often you want to see someone’s content. The best part is Facebook doesn’t let the person know that you unfollowed them.
  • Be thoughtful: Facebook’s algorithm is sensitive, to be thoughtful about what you engage with. You want to engage with (like, click, comment, share) the content you want to see more of and engage less with the content you don’t want to see. Facebook’s algorithm knows when you engage with content and it’ll continue to show similar content in your newsfeed.

Keep in mind that the more thoughtful you are about who and what you engage with, the more you’ll enjoy your newsfeed.

Stop complaining and start taking control; you’re in the driver’s seat when it comes to Facebook.
