My dad has officially entered retirement!
On September 28, I flew to Long Island for my dad’s retirement party.
The day was filled with good food, family, friends, and fun. It was a really special day that I never want to forget.
Since my grandmother died last year, it has become incredibly important for me to capture memories with my friends and family. The videos that I have of my grandma have become my most prized possessions since she died.
It is a gift to look back at the past and see the smiles and hear the laughter of your loved ones.
Celebrating Dad:
I made a video to commemorate my dad’s retirement because I wanted to preserve the memory of the day.
My dad has so many incredible friends who came to show their support and excitement for this next chapter of his life.
I took time during the party to have a few of his friends and family members speak to the camera and share a memory or a special message for him.
While the video is far from my best work as a YouTuber, I don’t care.
I made this video as a gift for my dad. I wanted to make sure that he always remembered this special day, surrounded by the people who love him most.
The older I get, the more I realize that life isn’t about being perfect. It’s about getting it done.
If I expected this video to be perfect, I never would’ve published it.
It wasn’t perfect, AND that’s okay. It was created with the intention of making him smile and that’s what matters most.
