Bloggerversary

I started this blog exactly one year ago to the day.

At the time, I was in desperate need of a creative outlet. I had always loved writing but had always been hesitant to share my writing with the public out of fear of criticism. I knew that the only way to improve my writing skills would be to practice writing, so I started this blog.

Starting a blog marked one of the first steps I took in 2013 to push myself outside of my comfort zone.

I approached the idea of blogging with some apprehension; however once I started, the process became one of positive reinforcement. I’d publish a post and edit it like hell which helped improve my writing. I’d get critiques from friends and coworkers which helped me grow a thicker skin.

Blogging has given me more confidence to put my feelings, thoughts and ideas out there for the world to see and disagree with.

Similarly, starting to blog (and falling in love with the process) further fueled my desire to challenge myself.

I know that I still have a lot to learn and improve upon, but that’s what 2014 is for, right?

I won’t promise that my writing will improve overnight. I also won’t promise that every post I publish will be a worthwhile read.

What I will promise is that I’ll keep blogging.

I hope you’ll keep reading.
