Buffalo Food Blogger The Local Sprout Dishes on How To Make A Smoothie

I couldn’t be more excited to feature Buffalo Food Blogger The Local Sprout today!

Ella is not just a creative chef, she’s a fun-loving down to earth girl, too.

I love following her blog “The Local Sprout” for recipe inspiration because she’s 100% gluten-free like me!

As someone that lives with an autoimmune disease, I know just how important it is to cook for yourself.

That’s why I love following blogs like Ella’s because it provides me with new ideas for products and recipes that I can incorporate into my diet.

Believe me, you guys aren’t going to want to miss this video embedded above.

Ella drops a ton of value including her go-to nut milk brand, favorite blender, and tips for making thick smoothies.

The Local Sprout:

After struggling with stomach issues, Ella was diagnosed with Celiac disease when she was a teenager. The need to adopt a strict gluten-free diet is what inspired her to start her food blog.

Since I’m a total foodie myself, I put Ella on the spot and asked her my top 5 questions:

Q: What are your thoughts on collagen and what’s your favorite brand?

A: Collagen is a great source of protein. Vital Proteins is an amazing brand. While the product isn’t cheap, it’s worth going with a quality brand that you can trust because you want the grass-fed kind. The benefits of the product are tremendous on your hair, nails, and skin!

Q: What’s your favorite blender?

A: I love my Vitamix! It’s worth investing in a high-quality blender if you’re going to make thick smoothies. The Vitamix has a great motor and blade.

Q: What’s your favorite brand of almond milk?

A: I love MALK Organics because it is easy to digest and doesn’t have thickeners or fillers added. The ingredients are super simple.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Buffalo?

A: The Dapper Goose.

Q: What’s your all-time favorite recipe on your blog?

A: The Southwest Sweet Potato Salad because it’s really simple and easy to make.

Once we got my burning questions out of the way, we got to business making smoothies.

Making a smoothie 101:

Ella wasn’t messing around; she came prepared with Vitamix blender and all of the ingredients needed to make her Mint Chocolate Smoothie.

To keep with the theme of mint chocolate, Ella brought me over some of her famous mint chocolate cake balls which were to die for!

You guys seriously need to make this recipe.

Everything from the ingredients, amounts, prep time and tips for pulling it off like a pro are included in Ella’s blog. (I told you guys, this girl knows her stuff!)

I learned so much after spending just a few hours with Ella.

For instance, did you know that cauliflower is a great way to thicken your smoothies? …yea, this girl knows all of the tricks.

Who is your favorite food blogger? What are some of your favorite recipes?
