Why You Need to Explore Buffalo’s Hotel Henry

Have you visited Buffalo’s Hotel Henry yet?

You need to explore this architectural gem.

I recently went to the Hotel Henry for brunch at 100 Acres, and it was fantastic!

Sunday brunch at 100 Acres is definitely a fan-favorite in Buffalo and it was my first time.

Not to mention, the hotel has such a rich history that I knew I had to make a vlog on it.

While 100 Acres isn’t extremely gluten-free friendly, they were happy to accommodate my diet which was really nice of them.

I had the grits, which were delicious! Jen got the burger and Rachel got bacon, eggs, and toast.

We were all thrilled with our food. It was tasty and the service is fantastic.

Touring the building:

The entire aesthetic of the building is breathtaking.

You want to take some time to walk around the building to discover all of its nooks and crannies.

The carpeted hallways and light fixtures are an Instagrammer’s heaven. (No exaggeration.)

There is definitely a bit of a creepy vibe to it, as the building used to be home to the Buffalo Insane Asylum.

Some people say that they can sense the spirits of those who lived (and died) in the hotel from years ago.

Our waitress shared a number of fun facts with us about the hotel, like the fact that the building was divided into two wings.

There was a male and female wing; you can tell which wing you’re in based on the flooring. If you see fancy tile, that’s the men’s wing.

There’s also a staircase that leads to nowhere inside of the hotel that was built as a way to keep patients out of the doctor’s offices.

Weird, huh?

Another fun fact: the Buffalo Insane Asylum was originally built to house 500 patients. There ended up being 1,500 patients in its heyday.

The hotel has been restored to its glory and it truly is gorgeous.

Whether you’re looking for a spot for brunch, a hotel to stay during a visit or just a fun activity to do during the day, Hotel Henry is perfect.

The hotel rooms are beautiful and the staff is super sweet!

We actually went all the way to the 4R floor to see inside some of the hotel rooms and suites.

If you’re a big bath person, you’re going to want to watch until the end of my video to see the tub in the suite.
