How To Grow A Thick Skin For Social Media

Are you thinking of getting started working in social media?

If you want to work in social media, there is one thing that I think you need.

No, it’s not an iPhone. (Okay, you probably need an iPhone.)

The one thing that I think you need to succeed in social media is a thick skin.

It comes down to tapping into your self-confidence.

Working in social media:

Obviously, I love working in this industry. I mean, you’ve seen my passion.

Working in social media allows me to make people feel seen.

That’s something that I love to do.

It’s one of my favorite things to do: use my creativity to help raise awareness for the amazing individuals and businesses within my community.

Through active content creation, live videos and daily shoutouts, I can make my audience feel seen.

That’s pretty powerful.

But here’s the thing: not everyone is cut out to work in social media.

Building a thick skin:

If you want to build a brand, and be the face of it, you have to have a thick skin.

You have to recognize that haters are everywhere. There are going to be people who don’t resonate with your content or enjoy your personality on camera.

Who cares?

The key is not to listen to them.

The key is to embrace your true fans and ignore the negative folks who aren’t a fit for your audience.

Especially if you do live video; you want to be able to roll with the punches.

Conclusion:

Building a thick skin is easier said than done.

However, it is possible by tapping into positive self-talk and activities that make you feel confident. Tap into the exercises you have at your disposal to tap into your confidence.

Over time, you will see your skin get thicker and your confidence online grow.
