When it comes to depth of social media channels, Snapchat probably has the most.

Snap is the one channel that I see people getting really raw and real with their audience.

People showcase their kids, homes, offices and more.

The best part?

People are flocking to Snapchat to share their story. 

I personally have taken to Snapchat to share my thoughts about prioritizing mental health and living with anxiety.

There’s just something about the audience on Snap; people are friendly, vulnerable, warm and eager to connect.

Creating content:

When it comes to Snapchat, the connections you make are directly correlated to the content you post.

The more you show up as your true self and act authentically, the better chance you have at building relationships.

Posting content on a consistent basis is the first step.

Developing connections:

If you want to create real connections to people, you’ve gotta get beyond that surface-level content. You have to be raw and get real.

It’s not just about sharing your expertise. You need to be brave and share your story.

When you do that, you give people the chance to determine whether you are the type of person they could see themselves being friends with.

In addition to developing content, you need to engage on the platform.

Building relationships is a two-way street.

It’s not enough to just post your own content; you also need to consume the content that others post. Watch stories on Snapchat and send messages to those who you’d like to develop a deeper connection with.

Tell people to message you and invite them to connect with you.

When you prioritize engagement, it’s amazing to see what happens. Things move SO MUCH FASTER.

At the end of the day, we’re all using social media to create connections and build relationships.

If you aren’t acting authentically and sharing your story, you’re not giving your fans a real chance to connect.

If you aren’t giving your fans shout-outs and participating in trends on the channel, you’re not showing your audience that you care.

When you serve up content on Snap that shows who you are and what you’re about, you start to build awareness for your brands and connections on the channel.
